Dancing in the (Main) Street
Our latest Ceroc venue, Turbo Thursdays at the Cambrian Hall, launched on Oct 2nd. Woo hoo! Lots of high jinks and playground mayhem was experienced at the Back To School night. Thanks to everyone who supported the night, including the following generous Main Street sponsors: Devil May Wear, Hotbox Accessories Inc., Re-entry Espresso Bar, Salt Spring Coffee, Splitz Grill and Narcissist Design Co.
Join us at this new Main St location (well, 215 E17th actually, but just off Main!) every Thursday for comprehensive beginner and intermediate lessons with plenty of practise time.
Ceroc helps break a World Record!!!!
The mighty Graham Lea, president of Ceroc SFU, organised the first ever Thrill The World dance in Vancouver on October 25th. At 11am, on a bright and breezy morning at Kits Beach, 69 "official" Vancouver zombies performed to Michael Jackson's Thriller amid a complete media frenzy.
Many thanks to everyone who danced (including a lot of the Ceroc Crew members), and to everyone who helped behind the scenes (again, many of the Ceroc Crew members!!!). Congratulations to Graham who ran all the free workshops, arranged all the promotion, set up the event and managed to raise $1,418.09 for the Food Bank.
Check out some of the coverage and start thinking about how cool it will be to do it all again next year !!
The official Thrill The World 2008 stats are as follows: On Oct. 25, 2008, 4,179 people from [72 cities in] 10 nations (Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Ireland, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, Scotland, United States of America, and Wales) simultaneously performed The Thriller Dance as part of the Thrill The World event, organized by Ines Markeljevic of Canada.
